Our Telethon student callers during Spring 2024 campaign

We truly appreciate every application, and the time candidates invest in expressing their interest. Due to the high volume of submissions, we’re only able to contact those who are shortlisted for the next stage. If you don’t hear from us after the closing date (15 October 2025), please know that your application has not been successful at this stage—but we’re truly grateful for your interest and wish you every success in your studies.

I was an international student, and I loved to hear about the experiences of the alumni here at ��ɫ��. Most of them met people from all over the world and it is very interesting to know how some are still in contact and are meeting regularly. Hopefully, I will stay in contact with my friends from ��ɫ�� too.

I thoroughly enjoyed talking to our alumni. Everyone had such fun and unique stories and it’s such a pleasure to have had the opportunity to hear about their time and memories of ��ɫ��.

As a student caller, you’ll help bridge the gap between today’s students and the generations of alumni who came before you. Through friendly, purposeful conversations, you’ll update them on university life, spark memories of their own time here, and encourage them to support projects that matter and directly enhance student life — making it possible for the university to provide bursaries, placement grants, scholarships, new equipment for clubs and societies, well-being programmes, employability activities, and many other forms of support that add meaningful value to the student experience.

As a ��ɫ�� Fund Student Caller, you’ll connect with ��ɫ�� alumni—graduates who once walked the same paths as you. Through genuine, friendly conversations, you’ll:

Reintroduce/update them to life at ��ɫ�� today
Share your experiences and campus stories
Listen as they reflect on their own time at university and life after ��ɫ��
Encourage to support life-changing projects through the ��ɫ�� Fund
From scholarships and internships to global travel bursaries, and initiatives that celebrate Welsh language and culture — you’ll help alumni see the difference their gift can make.

ARE YOU WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR?

You're a second or third year student, who can confidently share your experience of university life
You’re reliable, professional, and always on time
You’ve got a clear, friendly phone manner and enjoy a good conversation
You’re a natural communicator—warm, articulate, engaging, and a great listener
You enjoy connecting with people and sharing what makes ��ɫ�� special
You’re adaptable and take new challenges in your stride
You speak with heart and have a genuine interest in student life
You’re involved in clubs, societies, or student life at ��ɫ��—or simply have a passion for the community (involvement is a plus, but not a must!)
Welsh language skills or other languages are a bonus—but your enthusiasm is what really matters

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO COMMIT

If you’re shortlisted, you’ll be invited to take part in a short mock telephone call. Those who demonstrate strong potential will then be invited for an interview as part of the final selection process.

Before calling begins, there’ll be a compulsory training session on Wednesday, 29 October, 12:30 – 16:30, to ensure you’re fully prepared and confident to start.

Calling starts on Thursday 30 October 2025, and the campaign will run for 4 weeks, finishing on Thursday 27 November 2025.

You’ll need to be available for the following calling shifts:
🕕 Mondays to Thursdays — 6pm to 9pm
🕓 Sundays — 4pm to 7pm
