Sociology and Social Policy has never been more relevant. How we address things such as the housing crisis and the challenges in the NHS are major concerns and Social Policy can offer solutions to these and many other problems.

I've always been interested in how society is governed and what policies make the greater differences to things like poverty and inequality. Social Policy examines these areas and offers solutions to some of society's major problems in areas such as housing and welfare.

I enjoy teaching about topical and current issues in tackling poverty and inequality in UK society and beyond.  I have students from all over the world in my classes and I enjoy hearing their stories and experiences regarding social policies in areas such as health and education.

I enjoy interacting with the students and learning from their experiences of welfare states world-wide. It is great to engage students in class discussions especially after I've delivered a presentation on a topical area.
